SALZBURG

The “Almenweg Schmankerl” 2022 comes from the Grossarltal

Sugar Mizzy November 28, 2022

This year, the focus of the traditional vote for the “Alpine summer hut of the year” has shifted to culinary delights. Among the alpine summer huts available along the Salzburg Almenweg, the best “Almenweg delicacies” was awarded.

This year, the award for delicacy of the year went to Bettina and Manfred Huber, the managers of the Prommegghof in Grossarltal. In summer, they run their alpine summer hut at 1,710 m above sea level, the Filzmoosalm, and spoil their guests with home-made products. One of the delicacies is the Almenweg delicacy 2022: Cheese snack with homemade Grossarl sour cheese.

Throughout the alpine summer, hikers could enjoy and try the delicacies along the Almenweg along the Salzburger Almenweg. Because each of the alpine huts along the long-distance hiking trail has its specialty and a special dish as an “Almenweg delicacy”. In addition, the Salzburg chef Rudi Pichler paid a visit to the alpine summer huts available and looked over their shoulders as they prepared their delicacies. Until the end of the hiking season, visitors had the choice of their favorite Almenweg delicacy.

The choice is with 965 votes ahead to the second-placed Oberhütte from Forstau with curd cheese strudel from their own curd clearly on the Grossarler sour cheese and the Filzmoosalm from the Huber family favor.

Raiffeisen Salzburg is indispensable for our farmers, especially in its role as the headquarters of the warehouse cooperatives of the state of Salzburg with numerous warehouses, petrol stations, agricultural machinery workshops and its own compound feed factory.
