Portugal conquers 37 podiums at the World Dance Championship
Martim Amorim, the little dancer from Póvoa de Varzim, who had already been noticed this year, was one of the best dancers in the competition.
Portugal shone brightly at the World Dance Championship, which took place in Orlando, in the United States. In the end, there were 37 podiums – 32 gold medals, three silver and two bronze.
Martim Amorim, the boy who, this year, had already won two gold medals World Dance Cup for Portugal, won two golds, a bronze and the title of best dancer.
but the little dancer from Póvoa de Varzim he wasn’t the only one celebrating. Maria Correia won a gold and a silver medal, and Guilherme Fernandes secured three gold medals. In duets, there were two more gold medals: Guilherme Fernandes and Carolina Milhazes and Guilherme and Maria Correia.
At the special awards gala, the Portuguese shone in the following categories: Best Choreographer – Ana Marques and Francisca Marques; Best Director – Ana Marques; Best Dancers – Martim Amorim, Maria Correia, Guilherme Fernandes, Francisca Marques; Award for best production excellence for all levels; Best production award at student level; Revelation School Award.
