“They say you can’t break a promise. And not the pre-election one at all. As soon as the polls are closed, there is a time of absolute memory lapses for some propagandists. After all, it’s four years until the next political race, so yawn. People are stupid, they forget,” writes JUDr. Petr Lachnit, representative in this election period. Which is (both, the realpolitik of the Pirates, because we used to be big fans, and the fact that the good and experienced Mr. Lachnit is not a councilor at our town hall) a big disappointment. And Petr Lachnit continues…
I would guess that the national champions in post-election amnesia are the pirates from Prague 5. In their program, for example, it is written that “he has significantly reduced the number of paid representatives” and also that “savings must be made, but political representation must start at home”. So much pirate pre-election incitement to the citizens of Prague 5.
15 out of 21
And what is the reality? There are twenty-one coalition representatives at the Prague 5 town hall, fifteen of whom (!) will receive a salary for their activities. And now the main thing – including all six pirate representatives. I don’t remember an example from municipal politics when, after arriving at the town hall, the entire representative club started squeezing her like a lemon. I remind you: “We need to save” and “we will significantly reduce the number of paid representatives”. The literally unique paradox of the pirate approach is that you not only fail to deliver on your promise, but do the exact opposite. Duck’s stomach turns pale with envy.
The aforementioned six paid pirate representatives cost the tax official almost six million crowns per year. And it doesn’t have to be final. For example, the piracy from Prague 5 wishes to cleverly expand its club with other representatives from other parties, at that time without honored functions. A lucrative offer for public money is enough. Because, as the classic says: isn’t that enough?
