In Prague 3, TOP 09 and STAN, Piráti, Praha 3 Sobě and Zelení have agreed on a coalition, they will have a majority of 19 votes in the 35-member council. Today, ČTK informed the election leader of the TOP 09 and STAN coalition Michal Vronský (TOP 09), who will become mayor according to the agreement. The coalition agreement should be signed by the parties on Tuesday before the continuation of the constituent assembly, which was previously interrupted twice by the deputies due to the absence of an agreement.
The municipal elections in Prague 3, which has a population of 74,300 and includes Žižkov and smaller parts of Vinohrad, Strašnice and Vysočan, were won by the TOP 09 and STAN coalition with a gain of 11 mandates. Second came the Coalition for P3 (ODS, KDU-ČSL) with six mandates, third ANO also with six and fourth the Pirates with four representatives. The Greens, Praha 3 Sobě, the Trikolory and SPD coalition and Patriots for Praha 3 also got into the council, each of the four groups has two representatives.
According to Vronský, TOP 09 and STAN will have five seats in the nine-member municipal district, including the mayor, two seats will go to the Pirates and one each to Prague 3 Soba and the Greens.
The winning coalition of TOP 09 and STAN has negotiated with Pirates, Greens and Prague 3 Alone since the election, however, Vronský said on Facebook some time ago that he would prefer a more stable arrangement with a stronger mandate than a coalition with 19 votes. However, Pirates, Zelení and Praha 3 Sobě refused to cooperate with ODS.
Until now, the coalition of TOP 09 and STAN, Pirates and Greens ruled in Prague 3 under the leadership of mayor Jiří Ptáček (TOP 09). He did not defend the position in the elections, his party colleague Vronský replaced him at the head of this year’s TOP 09 and STAN candidates. Together with Prague 11, Prague 3 is the last larger Prague district where representatives have not yet elected a new leadership.
