NAPLES (ITALPRESS) – From the early hours of the morning in Naples a vast operation has been underway by the Carabinieri and the State Police and in execution of a restraining order, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the local Directorate District Anti-Mafia, against 63 people considered to be seriously suspected of mafia-type association, extortion and possession of weapons, for various reasons linked to the Camorra cartel called De Luca – Bossa – Casella – Minichini – Rinaldi – Reale active in the eastern area of Naples. There are 63 recipients of the provision, as they are considered, for various reasons, seriously suspected of mafia-type association, extortion and possession of weapons. The measure provides for 57 people to be placed in pre-trial detention in prison, for 2 to house arrest and for 4 to be banned from staying in the municipality of Naples. The ordinance summarizes the results of a vast investigation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples, launched in April 2016 following a seizure of drugs and some manuscripts in one of the homes where the illegal activity was managed of the criminal group, an investigation then expanded over time by collecting important probative elements on the association in question. A second segment of activity, launched in September 2020 following some acts of intimidation against citizens of the Ponticelli district, who were asked for sums of money in exchange for maintaining or obtaining social housing, made it possible to document the current permanence of the clan and related illicit activities. It is one of the largest post-pandemic anti-Camorra operations (ITALPRESS).
