Board of Siena Jazz, Valentini questions the administration: “Appointments based on merit or made with political parachutes?”
Were the appointments of the six new board members of Siena Jazz Luigi De Mossi made by making decisions based on merit and without choosing parachuted political parties?
This is essentially one of the questions posed by Bruno Valentini, councilor of the Democratic Party, in a question that was presented to the city council on Wednesday.
In his electoral programme, as Valentini recalled, the mayor had made it known that “the appointments in the companies owned by the Municipality will take place exclusively with transparent methods based on merit and competence, never again parachuted by political parties to administer public services”, while in the his decree noted that the nominees possessed “adequate and recognized professional and cultural preparation in the sector of interest”. But for the former mayor, however, it is clear that the names chosen “do not possess the above requisites and that they were chosen only for their political militancy and/or proximity to members of the Administration, in the sign of the most sinister subdivision” , explains the query
Therefore, in the end, Valentini is asked “to confirm that for the appointments of the six members of the Siena Jazz board of directors he has respected the formal commitments made with the voters and declared the truth about their competences in the “sector of interest”.
These are the other two question marks of Valentini who asks De Mossi: “to clarify whether the Region, included among the members of Siena Jazz, has assumed a formal act of assent, without which we would have a member of Siena Jazz included “at his unknown” and if “the new statute of Siena Jazz has ever been sent to the Ministry, in order to verify its compatibility with the indispensable requirements for state accreditation and the issue of university qualifications”
