MČ Prague 5 presented its Christmas coat | PRAGUE 5 | News
The Prague 5 district has also dressed up in a Christmas coat. On the first Sunday of Advent, two decorated Christmas trees were lit up in Prague 5. The first lit up in Smíchov in front of St. Wenceslas’ church in the presence of the new leadership.
“Today we gathered here on the occasion of lighting the Christmas tree. At the same time, small refreshments were prepared for the residents and people who came to see, and a mixed choir from Zbraslav sang for us. Behind me you can hear the wind instruments of the castle guard,” said Radek Janoušek – Deputy Mayor of the MČ Prague 5.
As part of the accompanying program, Christmas punch, hot tea, mulled wine and Linnaeus sweets were distributed to the onlookers.
“I would like to wish everyone a peaceful experience of the Christmas holidays, so that they really are holidays of well-being and meeting your closest friends,” wished Radek Janoušek – Deputy Mayor of Prague 5.
The second symbol of Christmas shone on Tille Square in Barrandová.
Despite the thick fog, many people came to the lighting ceremony. Most of them fulfilled the task from the invitation and so the whole time they rang the bells they had brought with them.
“I would like to wish the people not only from Barrandov that the Advent season is a time of calm for them, that’s why we live in a time when, for the third year, a lot of negative news is pouring in on us and we all need to take a breath and let it go. Try to return to the original the meaning of Advent, it is a period of kindness, calmness, contemplation. May Advent not only be a period of chasing after Christmas presents and meeting deadlines at work. So that we also think of others and not only of family members and friends, but also of family and neighbors,” wished Milan Kryl (Pirates) – deputy mayor of the City of Prague 5.
Both Christmas trees will be decorated in Prague 5 until the traditional date of Three Kings on January 6.
