Drivers who have a trip to Western Bulgaria to go with cars ready for winter conditions
The Road Infrastructure Agency (API) warns the drivers, who have a trip to Western Bulgaria, to hit the road with cars prepared for winter conditions.
Temperatures are expected to drop and in the evening and at night in the high fields in Western Bulgaria and the Pre-Balkans, the rain will turn to snow. A yellow warning code for dangerous weather has been set for today in the districts of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Lovech, Sofia, Pernik, Kyustendil and Blagoevgrad, the API reminds.
The “Road Infrastructure” Agency appeals to drivers to drive with caution and appropriate speed, keeping the necessary distance, not to take sudden emergency maneuvers and not to use lanes on the highway sections for faster movement. The blocking of traffic by vehicles that are not prepared for winter conditions makes it difficult for all other drivers to travel and the work of snow removal equipment.
The regional road administrations are following the meteorological forecasts in the regions and are ready to take the necessary actions to treat the pavements in the high mountain areas and the passes, where there are prerequisites for slippery and icy places. The whole is preventive, and then the snow removal activities to start as quickly as possible in the forecast of deterioration of the weather to ensure the passability of the roads.
The priority with the highways, the busiest directions, the first-class and second-class road network and the passages providing the connections between North and South Bulgaria.
BTA recalls that on October 31, several months announced the annual promotion “Winter”. It continues throughout November. The goal is to prepare all vehicles for the winter. In addition, pedestrians should also be more careful because the dark part of the day is longer and the roads become slippery.
