Six injured after fires in Marzahn-Hellersdorf

The Berlin fire brigade extinguished two fires in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district in the night from Friday to Saturday. A total of six people were injured. One of them had to be taken to a hospital.
As a fire brigade spokesman confirmed in the morning of the Berliner Zeitung, the first fire occurred on Trusetaler Straße in Marzahn. A balcony on the fifth floor of a high-rise building caught fire. The tenant of the fire apartment was slightly injured. He was confronted by emergency workers but did not have to go to the hospital. 52 rescue workers were deployed. The cause of the fire is unclear.
A basement in a residential building in Havelländer Ring then caught fire in Hellersdorf on Saturday morning. The fire spokesman said the smoke was rising up the stairwell. Five people were injured in this way. One of them so severe that he had to be taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire is still unclear here.
