Municipal officials receive a solution allowance | Amsterdam
The municipality of Amsterdam pays a compensation of 375 or 750 euros to its employees. This amount is to compensate for the sharp rise in energy prices and the rising.
Alderman Hester van Buren (Personnel and organization) announced this to the municipality on Friday. The compensation is an agreement between employers and trade unions. From the garbage service and boas on the street to the management in the Stopera: (almost) all employees will receive the suffering compensation in December.
These are civil servants who are employed as of 1 December 2022. Employees who earn up to and including scale 8 earn 750 euros, from scale 9 and higher they receive 375 euros. Civil servants with a lower salary therefore receive a higher remuneration than colleagues in the higher scales.
The amount is gross and in proportion to the number of hours an employee works. The agreement does not apply to trainees, work experience positions, self-employed persons without employees and seconded persons from other companies. On the other hand, temporary workers are entitled to the benefit.
The unforeseen compensation costs the municipality 11.2 million euros.
The municipality of Amsterdam is not the only employer to compensate its staff for the higher prices. More and more companies are turning a certain bonus. For example, employees of the public broadcaster received 750 euros and GVB staff 900 euros gross.
