Find out how much it costs to eat at the restaurant where Portugal celebrated its victory. The glass of wine? 46€ (yes, for one) – Restaurants
The National Team players have been in Qatar for a week, where the World Cup is taking place, which started on Sunday, November 20th. After playing corners against Ghana, the players were given a few hours off.
Almost all of Fernando Santos’ team sat at the table, with the exception of those who had relatives in Qatar, as was the case with José Sá, João Cancelo and Bernardo Silva. However, the place chosen by the players, in order to take advantage of the rest that they are allowed to grant, was not just anyone – it was the Tatel restaurant, of which Cristiano Ronaldo is a partner.
Located on the island of Al Maha, home to a selection of the most prestigious restaurants in the world, Tatel Doha is described as “an oasis” right there in the heart of the capital of Qatar. And it is a place where “high Spanish gastronomy” merges with entertainment, “thanks to its powerful daily program of live music”, according to the establishment site🇧🇷
In addition, it belongs to the company Mabel Hospitality, and has a wide range of strong partners. In addition to the captain of the Portuguese team, there are names like Manuel Campos Guallar, Abel Matutes Prats and Rafael Nadal to support the establishment.
But, after all, what does the letter offer?
At first glance, having a meal at this restaurant is to come across a diverse menu (and wrapped in refinement). For example, we can either kick off with some Tatel oysters (€13), tuna carpaccio (€37) or even some smoked Iberian meat croquettes (€28). Some typically Spanish delicacies, from gazpacho (€11) to potato tortilla with truffle on the side (€22) were also not forgotten.
For main courses, Tatel’s proposals range from meat to fish, as well as pasta and rice. And the dishes that have this last ingredient as the protagonist, seen as a symbol of unity at the table in our country’s neighboring culture, always serve two people, stresses the restaurant in the very Letter🇧🇷 In this sense, the Señoret rice, traditionally Spanish, made with fish and shellfish (69€) and the famous parmesan cheese and truffle risotto (34€) have everything to taste as good as they sound to the ear.
As for fish, the options range from cod al pil pil, a Basque delicacy that uses only olive oil, garlic and chilli when cooking, accompanied by garlic chips (47€), marinated salmon and citrus fruits (39€) or a tartare of tuna, prepared in a way that is similar to the typical roto scrambled eggs (38€). As for meat, the bets are on veal with poached egg and grated truffle (42€) and, the one that made us most curious (perhaps for the price) is, without a doubt, the Australian T-Bone steak, which has a value of €261.
To all these dishes, two more ingredients can be added, through their compulsive dishes, these being caviar or (in some cases, even more) truffle, whose additional cost ranges from around €11 to €264. With regard to side dishes, these are mostly made up of potatoes – whether mashed, fried or roasted.
We know that the authorities of Qatar and Fifa announced, before the beginning of the competition, the defense of the sale of alcoholic beverages in the vicinity of the stadiums where the games will take place. However, here you will be saved, as you will be able to have one (or several) glasses in your hand, while enjoying the food in this luxurious restaurant. There are even wines sold by the glass, with prices ranging from €13 to €46, or by the bottle, with a selection from Italy, France, Spain and even Portugal.
To conclude the meal, there are desserts that, being practically basic, need no introduction. You can opt for the cheesecake (19€), a slice of chocolate cake (17€) or the selection of ice cream and sorbets (10€) that the restaurant has to offer.
