Embassy of India, Helsinki and Startup India organized a Slush side event on “Made in India FinTech Solution”. One of the panel members, Ravi Ranjan highlighted how FinTech solutions could contribute to India’s growth. In the capital of Finland (One of the coldest capitals, located near the North Pole), one of the world’s largest and leading startup events, Slush, is organized annually, with more than 30,000 participants, especially startup founders and entrepreneurs. This year, the Indian Embassy in Helsinki, in cooperation with Startup India, organized a Slush side event on the topic Made in India Fintech Solution: Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The event was attended by entrepreneurship evangelist Ravi Ranjan and startup expert, Indian Ambassador to Finland Raveesh Kumar, Upasana Taku (co-founder Unicorn Startup Mobikwik) Mano Thangaraj (IT Minister Tamilnadu) and others.
While speaking, Ravi Ranjan mentioned, “India’s startup ecosystem has grown phenomenally over the last few years. At the event, I highlighted how UPI and fintech innovation are impacting India’s growth.” “Growing UPI payments, digital transactions and the ease of doing business across the country are the result of an excellent startup ecosystem and it promotes the country’s digital economy. Ravi has seen many challenges during his personal and professional journey. Ranjan’s childhood was disturbed by violence, terrorism and the resulting challenges. Last year, Ravi was the curator and business advisor for the highly successful TV show Shark Tank on behalf of the Venture Catalysts group. Recently, Seed Group, the private office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, has appointed Ravi Ranjan as Head of Strategic Partnerships to head its India operations. Ravi Ranjan is also one of the few handpicked emerging leaders from India who is part of the US government’s famous IVLP program.
