Elite 1 – Albi wins against Avignon and continues its clear round at Mazicou – Rugby League
During the 7th day of Elite 1, Albi won the fight against Avignon 22-12 and offered another victory at home.
As usual, the Tigers start strong. From the 5th minute of play, Mathieu Liauzun starts behind the down, fakes the pass and scores a very good try. Christopher Hellec transforms and adds two points (6-0). For his first match under the Albigensian colors, Maxime Puech scores in force. The transformation is missed but Albi leads 10-0, score at the break.
Effective Tigers
Following a delayed tackle, Avignon On the following action, Romain Pourret breaks a tackle on the first down and scores the SOA’s first try. Olivier Arnaud adds the transformation, 10-6. While the Bisons are proving to be more and more dangerous, a forward close to the front line allows Albi to breathe. On the following action, Nittim Pedrero restarts behind the down and overtakes the entire Avignon defense. He fixes Amine Miloudi and serves Théo Lardot who marks the third try of the Tigers. The transformation is successful and Albi leads 16-6 in the 55th minute.
10 minutes from the end of the match, Avignon reduced the mark on a great collective action. Out of scrum, Olivier Arnaud serves Amine Miloudi who finds Mouadh Bida. He shifts on a Hugo de Monte step and the SOA winger resists two defenders to score in pieces. Olivier Arnaud transformed magnificently and the match was restarted, 16-12. But Albi has the last word with Théo Lardot’s double three minutes from the final whistle. The transformation passes and the Albigensians win 22-12. Avignon leaves with the defensive bonus.
