Toulouse: a large collection is brought for Ukraine on the scale of the metropolis
A large collection for Ukraine will begin, from November 30, on the scale of Toulouse Métropole, partner of the operation with the Toulouse association Free Ukraine. A march against the war is also planned for Sunday, November 27, in Toulouse.
The Free Ukraine Association and Toulouse Métropole are launching, from November 30, a major collection for Ukraine invaded for nine months by the Russian army. The urgency of a large collection on the scale of the metropolis is more than ever made necessary in view of the situation in Ukraine, recalls the association. “Collection points will be set up in the municipalities and all donations will then be centralized in the collection center in hall 9 on the island of Grand Ramier,” explains Myla Popenko.
“The self-sacrifice of the Ukrainians”
On the material side, Free Ukraine is looking, in particular, for energy generators for individuals and for industrial use, but also for hospitals, bomb shelters, coworking spaces. “Despite the war, there is a lot of self-sacrifice on the part of Ukrainians, they persist in laughing, going to work while they experience horrible things on a daily basis”, continues the vice-president of the Toulouse association. .
“Thermal clothing, energy generators”
The latter also seeks to collect thermal clothing, sleeping bags, floor mats, heating pads, anything that can protect against the cold. Financial donations, from 1 euro, are also accepted, as well as battery lamps, headlamps, external batteries, etc.
