The triennial piano of public works in Pisa illustrated by Raffaele Latrofa

Sugar Mizzy November 25, 2022

This plan was therefore illustrated by theCouncilor for Public Works Raffaele Latrofa – assisted byBow. Marco Daole – during a special Press Conference held this morning in the Balearic Room of Palazzo Gambacorti, highlighting what will be the main interventions for a total amount of 169 million euros, of which 138 million for the 2023 financial year, the such as 96 choices from Public Financing to which the PNRR Funds contribute for a majority of 80 million, while the Municipal Administration makes 21 million of its own resources available, with the difference being covered by contributions of private capital and by the opening of Mortgages. As anticipated, the main interventions financed with Funds deriving from the PNRR are the three projects falling within the PINQUA – National Innovative Program for the Quality of Living that the Administration has already been awarded and concerning the Districts of Gagno, Porta a Lucca as regards the area of via Piave-Via Rindi and finally Pisanova-Cisanello, for a total amount of 62 million €uro, of which 45 million (approximately 15 for each of the projects) forming part of the PNRR, works that must strictly be tendered within the next September 30, but we plan to anticipate the times.

Conversely, shorter times, i.e. with the awarding of the respective tenders to the contractors, expected by 30 June 2023. for urban regeneration interventions for a total of over 20 million euros almost entirely financed with PNRR funds, among which the 7 million earmarked for the Cittadella urban and archaeological park and the 5 million needed for the construction of a new municipal swimming pool in the Barbaricina sports area, upon completion of which the current facility will be decommissioned, as well as 2.5 million earmarked for restoration and reuse of the areas and city walls adjacent to the Galilean Citadel and the Urban Park of the Republican Arsenals.

For the rest, there is no shortage of the now customary interventions relating to nursery schools and municipal schools, cycle paths and sports facilities, with particular regard to maintenance works, with particular emphasis dedicated to popular housing through APES which provides for the completion of the construction site in Sant’Ermete, in addition to the execution of further works for the renovation/redevelopment of existing buildings with respect to the original plan which envisaged their demolition for the construction of 20 apartments from scratch, all for a total of over € 7 million uro … Undoubtedly satisfied with the work done, Councilor Latrofa was keen to underline how: “it is a piano that has taken into account the suburbs, as demonstrated by the fact that we were awarded three redevelopment projects within the PINQUA, to then continue with the urban regeneration works that embrace the new cycle path that connects the Center to the San Ro Park ssore and a particular eye towards the schools for which 8 million euros have been allocated for the construction of three new structures which add up to the 7 million already invested in recent years”.

“As usual”, concludes the Councilor, “many interventions also concern maintenance works, understood as asphalt, sidewalks, sewers and lighting, to which must be added the major project relating to the navigability of the Arno which is going ahead with the construction for 500 thousand €uro of the new airport at the Citadel and, finally, what I am currently working on, i.e. the creation of “Smart Pisa”, a real project that will make our city one of the first “Smart Cities” on the national territory and whose first, tangible effects we count can already be seen in the course of next year”.

On the sidelines of the press conference, Councilor Latrofa and Architect Daole also reviewed the state of the art of the works in progress, from which it emerged that for the restoration of Palazzo Pretorio only the tower with the clock is now missing , in any case foreseeing its completion by the first quarter of 2023, while the times of the redevelopment works of Piazza della Stazione are fully respected for which the inauguration of a first part of the same will already start from Monday 5 December, contrary to that which concerns the construction of the new park in via Bixio, which in any case is expected to be inaugurated by next June 2023 and the only work for which it has not been possible to make predictions is the reorganization of Piazza Viviani in Marina di Pisa .
