This is one of the last steps before the realization of the motorway link between Castres and Toulouse. Monday, November 28, 2022, will open thepublic inquiry into environmental permits necessary to perform this operation.

This concerns both thewidening of the A680 between Castelmaurou and Verfeil over a length of nine kilometers and the creation of a motorway between Verfeil and Castres (the future A69) over a length of 53 kilometers.

Anti-motorway action planned in Maurens-Scopont

Saturday November 26, two days before the launch of this public inquiry which will be held until January 11, 2023, the citizen collective The way is clear will carry out a major new action on the route of the future motorway.

Opponents of the A69 are invited to meet at hamlet of Esclauzolles in the municipality of Maurens Scoponton the border of Tarn and Haute-Garonne, for an event entitled “The big ball of the excavations”.

On the occasion of the opening of the environmental public inquiry on November 28, the collective La Voie est Libre invites citizens to become aware of the masquerade of preventive archaeological excavations which today ransack the lands of the route even before the delivery environmental permit. The proper place for this archaic motorway project is precisely at the bottom of these holes!

“Come and bury Grandma Lucy’s amphorae”

The collective of opponents invites citizens to participate that day, from 2:30 p.m., in the “Hide your relic” contest through the following call:

You too can take part in this parody of excavations, come and bury “Grandmother Lucy’s amphoras”, “mammoth bones”, “bifaces or amber containing dinosaur DNA”, which are certainly lying around in your home and made from materials natural. Let’s rewrite history!

This mobilization of the anti-motorway will continue around a snack and a ball hosted by a DJ.

The collective denounces a non-parity commission of inquiry

On the sidelines of this mobilization, La Voie est libre also translated a letter on Thursday, November 24 to the president of the administrative court of Toulouse and to the prefect of Tarn for their request to review the composition of the commission in charge of this public inquiry.

The members of the collective point out the fact that the nine investigating commissioners are all men and are surprised, beyond this lack of parity, of the lack of diversity of profiles :

In line with the absurdity of this A69 project, deemed “anachronistic” by the Environmental Authority, the choice of commissioners is based on a backward vision of our society. Without calling into question the professionalism of those who make up the commission of inquiry, appointing seven men over the age of 60 to bring the public debate to life to propose a project that would have a lasting impact on the environment and the future of the territory, is seriously? In 2022, can we be satisfied with such a lack of representativeness, with a non-mixed commission of inquiry, without diversity of profiles and ages.
