Memorial Saverio Masi in Pisa 27 November 2022
The appointment with the Saverio Masi Memorial is renewed, thus reaching its 16th edition. The event, which combines charity with commemoration, is organized by the Saverio Masi committee and by the Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade of Pisa, and will consist of a non-competitive walk open to all.
This year, the choice of the institution to which to donate the proceeds fell on the Pisa Autism Association, born in 2011 to create a network of help for parents of children, teenagers and adults with autism spectrum syndrome. The total donated funds will result from the sum of the registration fees for the walk and the sale of the VVF calendars. There will also be a raffle which will see the awarding of prizes at the end of the event.
The path of the walk of this edition will be made special by the collaboration with ATI Mura di Pisa which has granted the stretches of walls that can be walked on by the participants by identifying two access points: the first from the Torre di Legno in Piazza del Rosso, the second – which will facilitate access for people with walking difficulties and wheelchairs – from Piazza delle Gondola.
“I consider the collaboration with the Walls of Pisa important because it is a recognition of the spirit of sociability with which we colleagues remember Saverio, both by organizing this initiative and on numerous other occasions” declares Alessandro Martelli, chairman of the Saverio Masi Committee.
The departure in staggered groups is scheduled for 9:30 on Sunday 27 November from the headquarters of the Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade of Pisa: it will be here that the participants will return after having covered, at their choice, 6 km or 12 km. In the first case, the walk reached Piazza dei Miracoli; for those who instead choose the long route, the additional kilometers will be those covered by the reunion on Viale delle Piagge.
To allow the day to go on in safety, in addition to the command operators, the ANVVF of Pisa who will preside over the refreshment point and an ambulance from the Mercy of Calci will be present.
It is possible to sign up for the walk, which has an entry fee of 5 euros, by going to the Redrunning shop on Lungarno Galilei, or at one of the two stands that will be set up on Saturday 26 November at Carrefour and at the Pisanova Shopping Center. The latter, together with the Municipality of Pisa, gave patronage to the event. Finally, it will be possible to register on the same morning, by showing up at the meeting point from 8 to 9.
