According to research conducted by SMAL (Finnish Travel Industry Association), Greece will already stand out as the most popular holiday destination for Finns in 2022 – once again.
“We are happy to continue the cooperation. Greece has been one of the most popular destinations for Finns, and a broader presentation of the country’s tourism opportunities has already been desired,” says the business manager of Matkamessu. Noora Haatainen.
Matka Pohjoimaiset Matkamessut is the largest professional event in the travel industry in Northern Europe, and it is preceded by the Matka Workshop Day business event on January 18, 2023, where hundreds of companies do business in pre-confirmed short meetings. Thursday, January 19, 2023 is the actual day for the professionals of the extension program, while Friday’s content is planned with students in mind. Jobs in the tourism, accommodation and events industry are presented by companies profiled as employers of the future.
People want to experience Greece’s numerous islands and cultural sites
Greece will be seen and heard at the Nordic Travel Fair organized in January. The object with partner country status is presented both at the stands of many Greek operators and in the program of the event.
“We are proud that Greece is a partner country of the Travel Fair and that the event will finally take place in January 2023. Finland and the other Nordic countries are important for Greek tourism, and we want more and more tourists to get to know our activities. Safety, authenticity and Greek food culture are important reasons why Finns continue visiting Greece”, says Pavlos MourmasDirector of the Nordic and Baltic countries of the Greek state tourism organization.
