Delegations from Turkey, Sweden and Finland met for the second time
According to the Presidency Spokesperson, the Turkish delegation of the Permanent Joint Mechanism was chaired by Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador İbrahim Kalın and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sedat Önal. The delegation included representatives from the Ministries of Justice, State, Housing, National Defense and the National Intelligence Organization.
The Swedish delegation was headed by Ambassador Oscar Stenström at the Prime Minister’s Office and Jan Knutsson, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Representatives from justice, security and intelligence officials were also present.
Jukka Salovaara, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Director General of Foreign and Security Policy of the Presidential Office, Dr. Petri Hakkarainen presided. Representatives from the halls of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Police, Security and Intelligence also attended.
The purpose of the Permanent Joint Mechanism is to ensure the execution of commitments in the Tripartite Agreement, the corridor noted:
“The Permanent Joint Mechanism welcomed the directors of technical-level coordination between relevant ministers and institutions, and the progress that Finland and Sweden have achieved. The parties agreed to continue work to achieve agreement.”
