At least two dead in helicopter crash in Eze
According to several local sources, the aircraft belonged to the private Monegasque company MonacAir.
It was between Eze-sur-Mer and Villefranche, and more precisely at the Col d’Eze, that a helicopter crashed this Friday afternoon, shortly after 2 p.m. At present, around forty firefighters, the police and the gendarmerie are deployed at the scene of the accident, which killed at least two people. According to beautiful morning, the helicopter belonged to the Monegasque company MonacAir and ensured the connection between Switzerland and the Côte d’Azur. He would, according to France Bleu Azur, left Lausanne to join the Principality.
On board, a pilot and at least one passenger of Russian nationality, who are the first two victims found by the emergency services. Still according to France Bleu Azur, a third person, also of Russian nationality, is wanted.
The maralpine firefighters specify that there is no risk of the fire spreading to the vegetation. For the moment, the circumstances of this accident have not been revealed; beautiful morning indicates however that the meteorological conditions were however good at the time of the crash, by specifying that an investigation was opened by the gendarmerie of air transport.
