Toulouse. Jeanne’s 104th birthday
Last weekend, the Silver Hair club of Saouzelong celebrated the 104th birthday of its oldest member. “She will be 105 years old on February 24th,” specifies the dynamic president of the club, Christian Estabes, proud of his 150 members. This Saturday, there were no less than 70 participants in the convivial lunch gathered around Marine Lefèvre, municipal councilor responsible for seniors at the town hall of Toulouse, Anaïs Saint-Aubin, departmental councilor, and Fella Allal, district mayor.
Jeanne Dreuilles always keeps a good foot, a good eye despite the vagaries of life. She started working as an usher at the Capitole theater and then a dresser at the Sorano theater for 10 years. She still appreciates lyrical art and opera. Despite her old age, she still manages to read and is passionate about the history of France and all of history in general, especially the history of ancient Egypt with its pharaohs. Thanks to a special box, she continues to watch television and especially documentaries. She remains passionate and curious. “You know I think it was still better before, she confides. We were content with what we had and no one complained.” Her niece, Eve Valette, regularly visits her and assists her in her daily tasks with great dedication.
