This year, the capital city of Prague also prepared the Schola Pragensis education fair. More than a hundred Prague secondary schools will present themselves at the Prague Congress Center from November 24 to 26, 2022. The organizers expect the participation of thousands of visitors from among pupils, their parents and teachers. In addition, this year’s edition is expanded with a modern application that guides ninth graders in choosing a secondary school.

“Find a high school you enjoy” proclaims the advertisement in Vyšehrad near the Prague Congress Center, where thousands of pupils will visit from Thursday 24 November to Saturday 26 November 2022 to choose their future high school, gymnasium or vocational school. Admission is free with no registration required for school tours and parents with children.

“I am very happy that every year a larger and larger part of the organization of the fair is taken over by the pupils of our schools. In this way, they can try practical things that are useful to them in real working life: from creating and managing a project, through communication skills to the ability to work in a team. It is also necessary to thank all the teachers who prepare the presentation of their schools with the pupils, because they are the ones who lead them to these things.” says the councilor for education Vit Šimral.

The tradition of the fair dates back to the 1990s. Eighth and ninth grade school tours come to it, and parents with their children also come in the afternoons and on Saturdays. Participants thus have the opportunity to take a peek into hundreds of secondary schools, soak up their atmosphere and have fun on the spot with both pupils and teachers.

“This year is important for us, as it is the peak of the generation of ninth graders. The upcoming year 2008 is the strongest in the last 29 years. At the same time, it is important for the City Hall of the City of Prague that everyone finds a school that they will enjoy and after which they will find suitable employment.” says the director of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of the City Hall. m of Prague Lenka Nemcová.

The 27th year of the fair already brings a number of innovations. In addition to the three-day event, the mobile city prepared a modern information campaign and developed an application in cooperation with the Preslova Media House.

“The habits of elementary school students are changing rapidly, and with them the way they choose a secondary school. In cooperation with older students, we therefore developed the Schola Pragensis application, which guides ninth graders through the entire process of choosing a secondary school. I offer a catalog of all Prague secondary schools, a profiling test, a video guide with advice from graduates and a map of the fair itself. The app is available on Google Play, the App Store and the website scholapragensis.cz” adds Jakub Jarolímek from the Preslova Media House.
