SNCF traffic still very disrupted between Toulouse and Narbonne
Following the derailment of a freight train at Carcassonne station on Wednesday November 23, rail traffic between Narbonne and Castelnaudary is still completely interrupted and very few trains run between Castelnaudary and Toulouse. The SNCF has set up substitute buses.
The day after the incident, SNCF traffic was still very disrupted between Toulouse and Narbonne. This Thursday morning, November 24, very few trains are running between Toulouse and Castelnaudary. Train traffic is also completely interrupted between Narbonne and Castelnaudary at least until Saturday 26 November.
The SNCF claims to have set up 6 substitute buses for travelers who have to make this journey, but the duration of the trip is extended. Buses will make the trip in both directions between Castelnaudary and Narbonne in 2h14, compared to just under an hour usually in TER.
We are aware that the situation is not ideal, but the idea is above all not to block daily commuters, to offer a solution to those who cannot do otherwise. Regarding long-distance travelers, we encourage them to postpone their trip.
Carcassonne station is currently closed and SNCF specifies that operations are still in progress: “ It is certain that restoring traffic to normal will take several days. The diagnosis continues, we want to be able to give a more precise estimate during the day. »
