San Marino. Training, ISS staff engaged in the new firefighting courses
The new fire-fighting courses aimed at the staff of the Social Security Institute have been underway for a few weeks.
The Social Security Institute reports this, emphasizing how “fire prevention plays an ever more fundamental role in the safety of the workplace, even more so in a health facility, and in this perspective the fire prevention course organized by the ISS becomes decisive in the education and training of emergency workers.
Their task, in fact, is to supervise and prepare the necessary fire prevention measures within the workplace, in particular they deal with the first intervention while awaiting the arrival of help, helping those present to reach the safe place closer. The designated employee also identifies the risks present in the workplace, systematically checks the evacuation routes and reports any risk situations.
In this first phase, the courses are aimed at doctors, nurses, OTA/OSS belonging to the Operating Units with 24-hour opening and to the services involved in emergencies.
At the end of each course, a practical evacuation test is performed at the State Hospital, to evaluate what has been learned and to establish the timing.
Subsequent courses will then be dedicated to the personnel of the other Services and Operating Units, including the administrative sector, effectively involving all ISS employees.
The firefighting courses are part of the mandatory training of ISS personnel, they have already been carried out in the past and are organized with the collaboration of the Civil Police and the Civil Protection.
“Investing in training – says the Director General of the ISS, Francesco Bevere – means investing in the future to have personnel who are increasingly prepared and ready to react to the challenges they will have to face. Firefighting courses, therefore, in addition to being a dutiful fulfillment of the law that the ISS has been carrying out for years, represent a fundamental aspect of staff training and preparation, and I want to highlight how it is the first time that they have been held for all employees. It is a further act in the field of safety which for the EC represents one of the priorities as demonstrated by the actions that are being carried out”.
