Beautification of the business areas of Greater Avignon
Manager of 29 activity zones, the Greater Avignon is launching this year a €20 million program until 2026 to enhance its sites of “community interest”. The program also aims to ease mobility with the securing of certain axes, the development of pedestrian and cycle routes and Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM), the development of public transport and the improvement of public lighting. An environmental preservation component provides for waste management as well as improved water management and sanitation.
The plan concerned AgroparkCastelette, la Cristole, Courtine, Courtine IV, TGV, Croix de Noves, Fontcouverte (Avignon), Aspre (Roquemaure), Balarucs (Caumont-sur-Durance), Carmejane, Fontvert-Saint-Tronquet, Gauloise, the White Tower, East and West Oseraie, the port area (Le Pontet), Chalançon 1 and 2, the Funds, Safranières (Vedène), the Plan , Couquiou north and south (Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue), Grand Angles (Les Angles), Pelitènes (Jonquerettes), Raphaël Garcin (Villeneuve-lès-Avignon), Réal Panier (Avignon-le-Pontet) and Saze (Saze ).
The Balarucs area benefited from the first works, followed by the Aspre area, then the Oseraie at Pontet. Each project is subject to a prior consultation with elected officials and business zone associations.
