VIDEO: An almost eight-kilometer lane for buses was created in Strakonicko
Originally, Strakonick was supposed to be fully operational from Saturday, November 26. Due to the construction of a new lane for public transport, cars have been standing in traffic jams for several months. The work for TSK was carried out by Porr.
The first stage of the new road with a dedicated lane for public transport began last year and was completed this year. Subsequently, the several-stage repair of the Barrandovský bridge began. At the end of the period, the second stage of the construction of Strakonick Street began. The new lane will be reserved not only for buses, but also for taxis, rescue vehicles and the city police.
We will open the longest bus lane in Prague, 5.7 kilometers long, without lanes. This is one of the largest bus transport support projects that has ever been implemented in the metropolis. As a result of the continuous flow of traffic, there will be more space for cars in the two comfortable lanes with a new surface, said acting Deputy Mayor Adam Scheinherr (Prague Sob).
After Strakonick, 17 bus lines of the Prask Integrated Transport (PID) run – they are urban and 13 suburban, and between 07:00 and 08:00 63 bus routes will pass in the direction of the center. In the morning, roughly seven thousand passengers use buses to travel to the center.
At birth, a retaining wall was built, an engineering wall was built, a new road structure was built in the parking lane and a new curb catch was laid. In the entire section of the road, they laid a new surface in all traffic lanes and there was a new traffic sign.
