A major incident occurred this Wednesday, November 23, 2022 Between Carcassonne and Bram (Aude), on the railway network. Around 5:50 p.m., a freight train saw several of its cars derail causing damage to the tracks. Rail traffic was immediately suspended, in both directions, between Carcassonne and Castelnaudary.
Rail traffic largely impacted
Travelers going to Toulouse will therefore be impacted in the coming hours despite the introduction of substitute buses and shuttles to reach Haute-Garonne.
“The trains run despite everything between Toulouse and Castelnaudary, reassures the SNCF, contacted by Actu.fr. Those who will go to Carcassonne turn around. »
Resumption of circulation on November 26
Faced with the extent of the damage, the SNCF wants to be pessimistic about the resumption of rail traffic. “It will probably not happen before tomorrow afternoon,” she said. Nightfall did not help the business of the technical teams of the SNCF, currently on the scene of the incident to carry out the first technical diagnoses.
Later in the evening, the SNCF communicated on a new recovery date: Saturday November 26, 2022.
