Toulouse and pop culture is a story that works. And what finer ambassador than the Toulouse gaming fair ? Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November 2022, the festival returns for a 15e edition rich in guests and animations at Meett, the new exhibition center of the Toulouse agglomeration.
70,000 visitors expected
Seven halls mobilized, more than 300 exhibitors, 70,000 expected visitors : “We have planned things in a big way! “, promises the organization of the planetary event.
Manga, video games, science fiction… Japanese culture is diverse and inexhaustible, and it brings together a vast community. Among the distinguished guests, we first find two singers from the Pink City whose presence may surprise you: on Saturdays, Gros Flo & Oli will give a conference in the amphitheatre, which can hold no less than 1,800 people. The format ? A question-and-answer session without an imposed theme.

For Frédéric Devèze, manager of the TGS, the room of the two Toulousains corresponds to a form of logic:
“Music is part of pop culture and we are a show dedicated to pop culture! They have YouTube channels, do streams and are fans of video games, so we are very happy to welcome them! “.
Prestigious guests are the hallmark of the TGS. This year, we will find in particular Youtubers of choice like Marcus, a “veteran” of video games (who notably created his Twitch channel “MarcusZeBoulet”), Julien Fontanier, Myrolame, La Balade de Sakura, Gero Japan… “The 2022 edition marks the great return of Japanese guests, it had been a while since we had any,” specifies Frédéric Devèze.
The voice of Jim Carrey will be present
On the actors side, no planetary stars, like the 80s MacGyver actor in 2016, but a myriad of personalities from the profession who will meet the Toulouse public. Disabled voice fans? Emmanuel Courtil (voice of Jim Carrey, Dean Cain, Ben Stiller or even Simba!) will undoubtedly make you relive these mythical actors by the sheer force of speech. “Voiceovers are becoming more and more popular. Hold files are often just as important as for YouTubers! “, observes the organizer of the TGS.
Fans of the new “House of the Dragon” series? Milly Alcock will travel to the south of France. You appreciate Clive Standen ? The ‘Vikings’, ‘Taken’ and ‘Doctor Who’ actor has been provided in the nets of the organization for this 15e editing.
Designers, from shadow to light
Designers are often in the shadow of their works that have marked history. It’s time to find out Mitsuhiro Arita (Pokémon, Final Fantasy, Berserk…) and Don Rosa, Scrooge’s cartoonistwho comes to Toulouse to celebrate the 75th birthday of the most stingy uncle.
Were you in front of Le Club Dorothée on Wednesdays in the 90s? The most nostalgic could meet and listen Bernard Minet. Another moment to savor: a unique concert with the symphony orchestra Opus 31 in the amphitheater, with a cover of music from films, Japanese anime and video games by 80 artists on stage.
A competition with the best cosplayers in Europe
The TGS would not be the TGS either without the cosplayers and all the folklore that accompanies these fans of series and manga on their fingertips. Fata Morgana Cosplay, Lune, Hazen Cosplay, Avalon, Malvagio, Damage, Shiroku… Some names you know, some you don’t. Cosplayers from 12 different nationalities will compete in The Europa Cosplay Cup (E2C)a new cosplay contest that brings together the best in Europe.
Zombie experience, sets, exhibitions…
But you will not be at the end of the many surprises of the festival. In partnership with Apocalypse Z, mini zombie experiences will be organized over the two days, with an immersion in a very worried tunnel… (price: 5 euros in addition to the price of the ticket). The sets of Star Wars, exhibitions of a hundred m2 centered on the universes of Stargate and Harry Potterwell-known movie cars (Harry Potter’s Anglia, Transformers Bumblebee), video game tournaments and even a Nintendo space on Switch…
A “Japanese Scene”
Finally, a “Japan scene” will be set up all weekend, with different activities such as cooking classes, calligraphy workshops… A few days later France-Japan in rugby at the Stadiumthe Japanese spirit will continue to float in the Toulouse air and the halls of the Meett.
Prices: 18 euros for one day (30 euros for two days). VIP rate: 100 euros (it’s full for this offer).
