Skating in Prague: Where to go?
Skating rinks will be in operation in most of Prague’s districts this winter. Some town halls directly operate the ice rinks, others offer areas for rent. Some ice rinks will be free for visitors, while others will cost around 50 kroner, skate rentals and refreshments will be available almost everywhere. Prague 4, Prague 10 or Prague 11 will not operate any ice rinks this year, spokespeople said.
The ice skating rink next to the Na Františku hospital opens the skating season on Tuesday. The 40×20 meter ice surface is built on the artificial grass of the multi-purpose playground, which serves the active citizens of Prague from spring to autumn. The rink is also suitable for visiting with small children, but the operator records the use of hockey sticks and dogs are also prohibited from entering the area.
Opening hours:
Skating for the public is possible on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays the rink is open until 7:00 p.m. Exact schedule available for viewing here.

The Čapadlo outdoor ice rink on the Prague embankment will be made available to the public free of charge. Hungry visitors will be able to get refreshments at the ice rink, outdoor heating radiators will be prepared for frozen skaters. The rink was supposed to open to the public already on Saturday, but due to bad weather, the operators had to open it.
Opening hours:
Every weekday from 13:00 to 21:00. On weekends, it will be open from 10:00.

Rental:
If you don’t have your own skates, you can borrow them for 150 crowns.
Children under 12 must wear a helmet and gloves on the rink.
Čapadlo ice rink

Prague 2 will not operate the public ice rink directly, but rents the areas for the ice rink. Those interested will be able to visit the ice surface in Grébovce or Folimance from December 1.
Opening hours:
Mon – Sun from 9 am to 8 pm.
Admission:
All-day admission to both ice rinks will be 50 crowns, children under six will be admitted for free.
Rental:
80 crowns.
The skating rink in the Mahler Orchards park will start the multi-season season on December 1. If the weather permits, it will be possible to skate until the beginning of March. The Christmas mood will be supported by mulled wine, grilled specialties or bombardino, which will be prepared for visitors in the popular winter garden. It is open until nine in the evening, so skaters can enjoy a beautiful view of the illuminated Žižkov Tower.

Rental:
Those interested will be able to rent skates on the spot for 50 crowns. Traditionally, there will also be refreshments.
The people of Prague will be able to brush off their skates after a one-year break at the Westfield Chodov department store. The ice rink will be open to the public from December 1 and will be open for skating until mid-February. Enthusiastic athletes will skate on an area of 600 m2. The rink will be accessible on weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., machine maintenance of the ice surfaces from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Skating under the Žižkov Tower

People will also be able to use free entry at the ice rink at Vypich in Prague 6 and at Letná, where the ice surface will be put into operation by Prague 7 on December 1. On Letná it will be open daily until February 28. Those who come without skates will be able to borrow them. There will also be a smaller ice rink nearby where children can learn, and refreshments in the bistro. The area will also provide heated tents for frozen visitors. There will be a skating workshop for children and adults.

Ice rink Vypich morning maintenance hours for schools and kindergartens. On weekdays, the rink is open from noon to 9 p.m., on weekends you can arrive as early as 9 a.m.
The air rink measuring 40 x 20 meters and the smaller children’s rink measuring 20 x 10 meters are open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

In Prague 8, there will be ice rinks on the playground at ZŠ Glowackého, in the Löwit mill and at the Ládví swimming pool.
Opening hours:
The Ládví swimming pool and ZŠ Glowackého offer skating on weekdays from 14:00 to 19:00. It is open from 9 am on weekends.
The skating rink in Löwit’s Mill is open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Admission:
At all three ice rinks, visitors will receive an entrance fee of 60 crowns per day, children under the age of six will be able to skate for free.

Ice rink at ZŠ Glowackého

The ice surface measuring 30 x 20 meters is located at the west entrance of the Černý Most shopping center. The outdoor ice rink has been open since November 12. It is possible to check the occupancy of the ice rink or make a reservation via the mobile application. For visitors, there is a skate sharpener and training bars available for the little ones.
