San Marino. The Red Cross takes stock of the activity in support of the territory
The San Marino Red Cross takes stock of the recent actions implemented, such as the transport of the sick and infirm in collaboration with the ISS and healthcare assistance at various events.
“We remember the recent Rally Legend which required a considerable effort. For the Christmas holidays, the first aid station in the city will also be reactivated, located at the pharmacy arch, available free of charge to tourists and San Marino citizens, managed by a nurse and a rescuer driver and in contact with the Emergency Department.
A new ambulance was recently delivered to the Volunteer Rescue Corps, equipped with all the aids needed to operate safely. The 4-wheel drive vehicle has the same equipment and features as those used in the Emergency Department and is interchangeable with them, according to the agreements in force with the ISS. The purchase was made possible thanks to a generous bequest from Dr. Rosaria Bigotto, who recently passed away. Former Head of the Hospital’s Analysis Laboratory, the unforgettable doctor, let us not forget, was the first San Marino woman to graduate in Medicine and we all remember her great competence and professionalism shown in her work. Her career ended with the prestigious position of Medical Director of the hospital. At the delivery ceremony of the vehicle to the Rescue Volunteers, the executors of the doctor’s will were present, the sisters Federica and Paola Bigi and the CRS President, the lawyer. Raimondo Fattori recalled the figure of the doctor and her commendable gesture with noble words.
After sending the first two loads of medicines and medical supplies to Ukraine, in collaboration with “Carità Senza Confini”, the association informs the citizens and the generous donors who have contributed financially, that a third shipment of medicines to our representatives of the “Fight for Freedom” association of Veresti in Romanian Moldavia, who will deliver all the material to Ukrainian hospitals. We have also been sent photographic documentation of the success of the previous mailings. More than forty thousand euros were spent on this transport, the result of the generous donations received from the San Marino citizens who responded to the collection, including the integration of ten thousand euros allocated by the CRS.
The activities of the San Marino Red Cross are possible thanks to the membership fees, donations, the transfer of three per thousand in the tax return and the activity of the Rescue Volunteers.
In this regard, it should be remembered that on November 26th, at 8.30 pm with the show Mogol tells Mogol and on November 27th at 6.30 pm at the Teatro Nuovo di Dogana the show “Tour Music in Fest: Grand Final” will be held, the very final of the musical contest for 15 years it has involved thousands of artists with the main aim of helping them grow artistically and orient them professionally. The musical show will show us the performances of 20 emerging artists. The organizers will donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to the CRS. In thanking the entertainment management for this noble gesture, the CRS invites members and citizens to start the event.
A similar invitation is for December 26, at 4.30 pm at the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The “Camerata del Titano” will perform the traditional “San Stefano Concerto” with the proceeds, free of charge, destined for the CRS.
In thanking the generous donors, the CRS recalls that the association is at the service of our community, and invites citizens to participate in its activities, even actively, by subscribing to the association, bringing contributions of ideas and projects and also joining the board in anticipation of the imminent renewal of corporate offices”.
