PISA

One month at the Pisa Marathon

Sugar Mizzy November 22, 2022

Pisa Marathon

One month left for the 23rd edition of the Pisa Marathon: races for everyone with the three of 42.195 km, 21.097 km and 4 miles

The Christmas air begins to spread as Pisa prepares to welcome thousands of runners from different countries at the start of the marathon under the watchful eye of the most famous tower in the world. Less than a month to go, 1063 SSDARL, the organizing company, is working hard XXIII Cetilare Pisa Marathon which will be staged on December 18 on a measured AIMS-World Athletics and Fidal course. Three distances, marathon, the Pisanina half marathon and 4 miles, all on a flat and fast course, between art, culture, a dip in the Tyrrhenian Sea and one in the Arno before returning to the Campo dei Miracoli.

SOLIDARITY – In Pisa as well as in the most important cities of the world, the marathon has always been synonymous with solidarity. Also for 2022 the commitment of the organizing company towards the weakest is bending over backwards. The solidarity of the athletes who participate in the XXIII Cetilare Pisa Marathon it can be addressed to various projects such as Progetto Homeless, Rare Partners, Mondobimbi and Club Scherma di Ciolo.

HOMELESS PROJECT – Guests of the “Progetto Homeless” facility in via Conte Fazio (managed for the Health Society of the Pisana Area, by the Cooperatives “Il Symbol” and “Arnera”), assisted by four operators, will be involved in the organization of the Pisa Marathon. From 6 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon on Sunday, they will take turns in the garrison around the perimeter of the Homeless Project structure in via Conte Fazio: they will take care of the arrangement of the barriers, traffic management and will give the athletes directions on the route. Furthermore, the CTP2 Standing Events Committee, of which Progetto Homeless is a part, has organized activities for children in the courtyard of the center of via Conte Fazio in order to entertain them while waiting for the marathon. PROJECT SUPPORT THE HOMELESS

RARE PARTNERS – It is a non-profit organization engaged in the rare disease sector. Run4Usher is the title of the project that supports research for Usher Syndrome, a genetic disease that causes deafness at birth, associated with retinitis pigmentosa that progresses to complete blindness in most cases within a few decades of life. SUPPORT RARE PARTNERS

MONDOBIMBI – We called our project in Tulear “School Village AFAKA”.

Afaka in the Malagasy language means free. We are convinced that only by growing up in freedom can we create a new world. We operate with distance adoptions and on site with education projects. SUPPORT CHILDREN’S WORLD

CIOLO FENCING CLUB – The Di Ciolo Fencing Club was born and structured in Pisa thanks to Antonio, the first great Master. He trained and initiated decisions of athletes to Olympic and world successes. Marathon of Pisa collaborates and supports the Paralympic fencing project. SUPPORT THE CIOLO FENCING CLUB

ART AND CULTURE – On the Pisa Marathon website there is a special section to facilitate bookings for the Museum of Ancient Ships of Pisa, Palazzo Blu, Museum of San Matteo, Museum of Human Anatomy and many other cultural assets, CLICK HERE for the complete list.

REGISTRATION – Registration is open on the website – CLICK HERE. Entries close on Thursday 15 December at 12.00.
