“Gabriella has an important role to play” in her succession!
They were all there, this Saturday, November 19, in Monaco, around Prince Albert II, for the National Day of the Rock. Also known as the Prince’s Day, this anniversary of the reigning Prince’s accession to the throne was an opportunity to take some family photos, in the presence of the lovely Charlotte Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo, but also and above all with Charlene of Monaco and her little ones, Jacques and Gabriella, 7 years old.
“With Charlène, we try to instill…”
Last year, it was without their mother that they marked this important day on the Monegasque calendar. This year, it was with a very big smile that the little ones showed up on the balcony. The same day, their proud dad said a few words about them, in the columns of Monaco-Morning. He who took over, with his sisters, Caroline and Stéphanie, when Charlene was in bad shape, explained: “With Princess Charlene, we are trying to instil in our two children the values that seem essential to us. They will be 8 years old, they are still young, but are progressing a lot in terms of maturity and awakening to the world. extraordinary for any parent to see their children grow up”.

About his heir, he had nuanced and modern proposals. Himself little brother of Princess Caroline, who was of great support to him at the disappearance of their dad, Prince Rainier (and of course their mom, Grace Kelly, a few years before), Albert II is completely aware that we do not reign alone, at the top of the principality.
“Jacques is the hereditary prince, but…”
Thus, he confessed:Of course Jacques must be trained and gradually prepared for his future functions. But Gabriella will also have a role to play, she must be as seasoned as possible to help her brother”. And indeed to add:Jacques is the hereditary prince, but Gabriella has an important role to play supporting and sharing some responsibilities. They are already very close, very accomplices. We must not make too much differentiation for the moment, it will come in small steps“.
