Backpackers, climbers and nomads. Prague on the weekend of guests travel festival Around the World | Travel
Marek Holeček is a smiling man bursting with energy. He’s always on the move, even when he’s chatting over coffee. A slender figure and strong hands reveal that he does not make a living sitting in front of a computer screen. Mára, as his friends call him, is a top Czech mountaineer who explores the limits of the human body’s possibilities during neck-breaking and breathtaking ascents.
From a layman’s point of view, it moves on the edge. Sometimes the mountains and the weather allow her to reach the top, for example during the famous first ascent of Satisfaction on Gasherbrum I., sometimes the circumstances are against, as this year when trying to conquer K1 (Masherbrum) by a new route. The climbing world noticed the ability of the Czech climber and his partner Zdenek Háček Hák, as he already won the Golden Ice Ax twice. This award is compared in the climbing world to the Oscars in the film industry. It is awarded for the best climbing performance in the past year. (You can read about the Holečky climbs HERE)
One summer day, Nicolette Havlová put on her shoes, threw a backpack on her back and set off alone to the east. The goal of the young girl was where two continents meet: Europe and Asia. A 2,025-kilometer journey eventually led her to Istanbul. From this walking pilgrimage, he brought back a souvenir in the form of a life piece Svili, a female found in a garbage dump near Svilengrad, Bulgaria. Out of the way Nicolette wrote legal notes for the Lidovky.cz server, which you can read HERE.
Both of these travelers will take turns in the large hall of the Clarion Hotel in Prague, which on the 26th-27th hosts the Around the World festival in November. The festival program is divided into 5 program halls with projects between which festival visitors can move freely.
The nomads of the new age will also be represented, i.e. the segment of off-road expeditions, caravans and vans, where Pepa Vrtal alias Fotr na tripu, caravan operator Klára Hájek Velinská or the travel project Adam’s big journey (read more HERE).
A rich travel fair and Exotic Food Court await visitors in the hall. It will offer food tastings from the Middle East, Africa, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Mexico and Argentina. You can buy tickets for the festival HERE.
