A new ministry was created in Hungary because of the war
With 34 yes votes, 50 no votes and 1 abstention, the deputies adopted the amendment of the Act on the List of Ministries and some related laws at the initiative of the Prime Minister.
The Ministry of Energy founded the government on the grounds that, due to the war and sanctioned energy prices, the most important issue in Hungary and Europe is energy security and energy prices; because of the sanctions in Brussels, energy prices continue to have a unified energy management, which is why it is necessary.
The new ministry – which the Prime Minister asked Csaba Lantos to lead – will be created by renaming the Ministry of Technology and Industry, after the resignation of László Palkovics, who headed the ministry, in mid-November.
In the new structure, the tasks related to transport will be taken over by the Ministry of Construction. The Ministry of Construction and Investment will continue to operate under a new name: the Ministry of Construction and Transportation from the first of December.
As of January 1, the list of ministries will be supplemented by the Ministry of Economic Development, which was created by a spin-off from the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office. Until now, Márton Nagy was responsible for the area as a minister without a portfolio.
Through the changes, the number of ministries in Hungary will increase from the previous 11 to 12.
