Ukraine became the largest supplier of butter and cheese to the EU
In three quarters of 2022, Ukraine became the largest supplier of butter and cheese to the countries of the European Union.
As reported by Ukrinform, he informed about this Analytical agency Infoagro with reference to data from the European Commission on trade in dairy products.
It is noted that Ukraine exported 4,300 tons of butter to the EU in nine months and is in first place in the ranking. According to analysts, competition for domestic products is Turkey and New Zealand, but at the end of the year, Ukraine will retain its leading position.
During the same period, 1.5 thousand tons of goods under the cheese code were delivered to the EU from Ukraine. The agency emphasizes that Ukraine has become the largest supplier of this product to the EU for the first time. Analysts predict that by the end of the year, Ukraine may be in a different place in terms of the volume of cheese supplies to the EU.
Experts explain that Ukrainian companies managed to increase the export of butter and cheese by changing the industrial balance due to the war, removing trade restrictions from the EU and favorable price conditions for EU and Ukraine.
As it turned out, in January – September 2022, Ukraine exported 72.43 thousand tons of dairy products, which is 11% more than in the same period last year.
