Prague: The transport company will buy new trams for a price of 15 billion
According to the information in the newspaper, the company wants the first 20 trams to be removed in 2025 and the next 20 in 2026. Others will then be able to purchase as needed on the basis of a framework contract in the following years. According to earlier information, he wants to use European subsidies to buy the first twenty cars. The cars will be needed to renew the car park and service the new lines.
The company has, according to information on its website 802 trams in seven different types. The most numerous people are the so-called solo cars of the T3 RP type, of which there are 347. The second most numerous group are the newest 15T for City trams, of which DPP owns 250. The enterprise also has 730 subway trains, 1,216 buses and one trolleybus. It recently issued a tender for up to 70 additional low-floor trolleybuses for 1.18 billion crowns. The company also operates a cable car on Petřín.
Other plans
In April of this year, DPP put into operation the section from the housing estate in Barrandová to Holyně, which continues to Slivenco. A number of other tracks are also planned, for example the tracks in the upper part of Wenceslas Square or the section connecting Bolzanova with Vinohradská street.
Further further the construction of a tram line from Divoká Šárka to the Dědina housing estatewhich should be put into operation at the turn of October and November next year, and extends tram line from Modřany to Libuš.
