Pilade Buti has died: the condolences of CNA Pisa
92 years old, he had founded and launched the “Buti Pelletterie” in the world. Quality and innovation, starting from the finishing of the woven chestnut baskets
Writes CNA Pisa. Pilade Buti, founder of Buti Pelletteriethe company born in the first half of the fifties in Cascine di Buti and today a national and international brand in the leather goods sector.
It all begins with the tradition, preserved in Butese, of woven chestnut baskets. In fact, Pilade and his family were the first to finish the baskets with leather and export them all over the world. A thriving business until this market comes to a sudden halt and pushes the Buti family to roll up their sleeves and focus once again on innovation and quality research. Here the family business begins to deal entirely with leather.
And it is precisely in these years that Pilade starts a meticulous search for artisans, finding professionals and masters who grew up in Florentine workshops, to give life and legs to his new company which has always stood out for its innovation, excellence and very high quality standards. Merit of the genius and intuition of Pilade who, together with the model maker Alcide Bravi, become the designers of the brand in the continuous search for new materials, shapes and original accessories to always be in step with the times and, even, of the forerunners.
In the mid-1980s, his sons, Amerigo and Federico, also took over the reins of the company, respectively assuming the position of commercial manager and administrative manager. For his part, Pilade – who worked until just before his last days of life – supports and personally follows the production department, giving the new generations the precious advice of the Master Craftsmen and combining, at the same time, new products and ancient traditions.
The same footsteps are also followed today by Linda, Amerigo’s daughter and Pilade’s granddaughter, who passionately attended the high school leather goods course in Florence to better learn the development of leather goods modeling and to carry on the company that, with many sacrifices, created his family.
Excellence, quality, commitment and innovation: strengths and flagships which, over the years, have given life to a showroom in Florence with a second store in the renowned via della Vigna Nuova and one more in Belgium, one in Saudi Arabia and one in China’s old historic capital, Xi’an.
Always linked and strongly attached, with a participatory and proactive spirit, CNA Pisa has always been associated, since the birth of the company, with the trade association.
To his wife Rosalba, to his children Amerigo and Federico, to his grandchildren, to the employees of Buti Pelletterie and to all the loved ones, the condolences and closeness of the territorial president of CNA Pisa, Francesco Oppedisano, of the general manager Giuseppe Sardu and of the whole association of the Pisan category.
