However, the home fighters were not intimidated by the sounding name and after a tough fight, they were eliminated with a huge favorite match on a festive Thursday afternoon only after separate raids. “We played a good match. In the end, it was us who had more chances in the match and could have decided it even earlier than in raids. In them, it’s just a lottery,” Milan Nevosad, coach of the home team, said about the match. And he added: “If you follow the tactics and discipline, you can simply play with anyone. This was only confirmed to us on Thursday.”
The visitors from Prague started the match when Peschout opened the match in the 5th minute, and Novák made it 2:0 in the 12th minute. But the next moments of glory already belonged to the home team, who play a long-term competition one floor lower than their extra-league juice. In the cup, however, the differences are often erased. In the further course of the match, the Tigers erased not only the differences, but also the difference of their opponent. Eighteen seconds after half an hour of the match, the match was tied after goals by Číhala and Krejčí. And at 31:51, Tomáš Lhota even sent the home team into the lead. During the season, he and his brother Lukáš alternated starts in Kert, but in the cup match both Czech representatives played for their parent team.

But the thrilling sword continued. For Kert, Zvonek first equalized and then returned the lead to the guests even in the weakening of Fejfar. However, the Tigers were able to take advantage of the power play in which they first conceded themselves. Lukáš Lhota equalized at 4:4. This was also the end of regular time, and since no goals were scored in overtime, the raids had to decide. They managed the visiting players better, and they could rejoice in advancing to the fourth round.
“I believed that the match could be balanced. The important thing was that players with alternating starts started for us. They always play very well and the rest of the players always join them,” coach Nevosad added to the match. “We just did an honest performance. Even though we lost. But there is a difference between losing and losing,” he added. And this defeat really injected positive blood into the veins of his charges. “We proved to ourselves that we can really play with everyone. This is very important for the psyche. It was immediately confirmed for us in Sunday’s league match, where we played 2:4, but we managed to turn it around,” coach Milan Nevosad concluded.
