OLTH: Containership will connect Thessaloniki with Northern European ports – Economic Post
The start of a weekly container route between Thessaloniki and ports in northern Europe the CMA-CGM.
CMA-CGM’s new “FEMEX” service will connect Thessaloniki with the ports of Southampton (Great Britain), Antwerp (Belgium) and Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Hamburg (Germany) and as announced by the company by highlighting the itinerary event that will take place on December 8. Regarding the export from Thessaloniki, it is clarified that it is also connected to the ports of Turkey (Istanbul, Gebze, Gemlik, Izmir), as well as the port of Tangier in Morocco.

Weekly routes
The ships of CMA-CGM will serve the port of Thessaloniki weekly with the above ports, which are concentrated in the largest among the container trucks (Containers) approaching the port.
CMA-CGM is one of the largest container transport companies, occupying the third place worldwide with a presence in 160 countries, 20 million TEUs and management in 50 ports. In Greece, its presence began in 2001 in Piraeus and Thessaloniki, where it has a share of co-management in the OLTH Container Station. CMA-CGM Greece, as noted in its announcement, has a clear orientation over the last two years to the utilization of the port of Thessaloniki and its upgrade to the main gateway for the southern Balkans.
