It turned out: Hungary wants to cancel the energy sanctions against Russia
In the field of energy, sanctions against Russia must be abolished and there should be no talk of introducing new sanctions – said Tamás Menczer, the State Secretary responsible for bilateral relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in a video published on his Facebook page on Monday. According to the state secretary’s argument, the sanctions policy is a failure because it did not bring an end to the war, and the sanctions policy weakens us and helps Russia to record revenues.
We wrote about the effects of sanctions in detail in this article:
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Monday in Sochi, Russia: no kind of sanction can limit the Hungarian energy supply, since one of the basic principles of our country’s energy strategy is that the composition of the energy mix is an exclusive national competence. According to the ministry’s statement, the head of the ministry said at the Atomexpo plenary panel that the compilation of the energy mix is an exclusive national competence, which is not limited by any kind of sanction.
