Galleria Tornabuoni opens in Rome in 2023
After Paris and London, the gallery born in Florence in Via Tornabuoni also arrives in the capital. Naturally in the very elegant streets of fashion around Via Condotti
Born over forty years ago taking its name from the very elegant Via Tornabuoni in Florence, the Tornabuoni Gallery, battleship of the Casamonti family, arrives in Rome and does not lose the habit of placing its headquarters in the great high streets of international fashion. In the capital, the gallery will open in the luxurious Via Bocca di Leone, at number 88, a few steps from the important Palazzo Torlonia: we are in the Roman fashion district that revolves around Via Condotti.
The space is located in the internal courtyard, but a condominium contract will allow the door to be kept open at all times and so the gallery – a little less than 170 square meters – will also be clearly visible from the street. Directed by Andrew Bizarro (which will be divided between this new headquarters in Rome and Forte dei Marmi), the gallery will be in charge Ariadne Paragallo who arrives at Tornabuoni after many years at Gallery Monitors right in Rome. Timing and content? Still early to tell, but the gallery should be ready in winter, perhaps by the end of February. Opening – it was whispered in the corridors of the Arte in Nuvola fair that has just finished in Rome – perhaps with an exhibition of LucioFontana. After having opened in Paris and London and having created an authentic museum in the original Florence as well as a three-story gallery-palace designed by Studio Archea, the Galleria Tornabuoni will make its debut next year in the Italian capital.
