First edition of the Cities for All Festival in Toulouse!
This week, the city of Toulouse is offering the Villes Pour Tous festival with events for all audiences, especially those with disabilities.
From November 21 to 27, a rich program around accessibility takes place in the districts of Toulouse and the cities of the Metropolis. Events designed for all audiences, especially those with disabilities, was the formidable challenge taken up for more than ten years by the Rencontres Ville & Handicap, which this year becomes the Villes pour Tous Festival.
In September 2022, the City of Toulouse and Toulouse Métropole created a Villes pour Tous label, an event brand that guarantees accessibility for all of the events that benefit from it. It immediately makes visible the various events organized in Toulouse and the neighboring towns which pay particular attention to welcoming people with disabilities or with specific needs. But this new label also offers general public events, free and open to all. The fact that the vast majority of the program is free allows everyone to benefit from a diversified and rich cultural, sporting or even entertainment offer.
Discovering the Villes pour Tous festival means learning about disabled sports, tasting wine blind, going through sound and olfactory exhibitions, taking part in tactile workshops, experiencing shows in sign language, etc. So many events ingenious far from being a constraint, accessibility becomes an asset!
The Festival is also this great annual meeting where we discover how to think of the city differently, how to make society more inclusive. We learn about what a dys disorder is and how it manifests itself. We learn sign language. To many questions, the Cities for All Festival offers answers through conferences, workshops and forums for individuals and professionals.
