FESTIVALS: Safe City by Juraj Lerotić won at IFF Ljubljana 2022
LJUBLJANA: Croatian-Slovenian co-production Safe place / Safe place Juraj Lerotić received the Kingfisher award for the best film in the Perspektive 33 competition. Ljubljana IFF (November 9 – 20, 2022).
Pjer Žalica received the audience award Labor Day / Love Dayco-production between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro.
The award for the best short film was awarded Sierra by Estonian director Sander Joon.
92 feature films and 17 short films from 48 countries were screened at the festival.
Side sections included: Panorama, Avantpremiere, Kings & Queens, Extravaganza, Focus: Kosovo, Retrospective: Miklós Jancsó, Homage to Rajko Grlić and the Prague School and, for the first time this year, the Adriatic Festival Network with winning films from Sarajevo Film Festival (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Zagreb Film Festival (Croatia), Author’s Film Festival (Serbia) and Herceg Novi – Montenegrin Film Festival (Montenegro).
