Bakery at the main train station Suddenly – the operator destroys the hope of a comeback
Shortly before the Oktoberfest started, Strobl’s Backstube at Munich Central Station closed. Forever, as the operator now explains.
Update November 20, 2:48 p.m.: There is no future for Strobl’s Backstube on Bayerstrasse. After our report on the surprising closure of the store (see below), the operator clarified this in an Instagram message. He wanted to “reorientate himself”, it was said at the end of the bakery – without further specifying this. Fans of the contact point not far from Munich Central Station, who were still hoping for a comeback, now have clarity.
Munich Central Station: Strobl’s Backstube Suddenly closed – “We always stocked up there”

Munich – “The service was always super friendly and the offer was very attractive,” reports one of our editorial staff, who reveals himself to be a special fan of the tomato-mozzarella panini. For about two months, its food source is on Munich Central Station dried up. Strobl’s Backstube at Bayerstrasse 18 is closed. The background is unclear.
There is only a note on the front door that refers to “new opening hours”. It was hanging there long before pretzels, pastries and soft drinks were sold at the delicious baker’s.
Collapsed boxes are stacked up in the store, the counter has been cleared. “It’s a shame they disappeared overnight. We always stocked up there for the lunch break,” explains a passerby who is standing in front of closed doors on Wednesday (November 16).

It was just before the Oktoberfest started when the bakery closed. Some customers were still thinking of a short breather before the Oktoberfest madness. Apparently you were wrong.
KVR on request: “We don’t know why the shop is currently closed”
Has the KVR heard of a possible business closure? At the request of our editors, a spokesman explained: “The Strobl bakery is still registered as a business. We don’t know why the shop is currently closed.”
Employees at the existing hair salon state that sales have not been so good lately. At least that’s what the operator of the bakery told them: “He also said that he might want to raise the prices.” The Strobl neighbors don’t know any more details, however.
It is questionable whether regular customers can still hope for a comeback. In the summer of 2022, one had given a Google review that was as simple as it was exuberant: “Oh, I love it!” (Lk)
The construction site at Munich Central Station is currently not visible in the immediate vicinity of the bakery. However, it may take some time to complete as a detailed visit reveals.
