Traffic on the line from Prague to Kolín was complicated by a collision between a train and a person
Complications on one of the most important lines in the Czech Republic leading east from the capital Kolín caused a train to collide with a person before around four o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, November 20. That contact with a railway car in the section between Prague-Libeň and Prague-Běchovice stations cost him his life.

The extraordinary event stopped traffic, and because of this, some lines headed for an alternative route via Lysa nad Labem in Nymburk. “Some trains of line S1 are diverted outside the stops Praha-Dolní Počernice and Praha-Kyje,” reported the Czech Railways website.
The trains stopped between Hostivař and Říčany. A person was knocked down in the railway yard
The measure also affected three express trains, which the dispatcher directed further through Prague’s Malešice.
Five minutes after five o’clock in the afternoon, Czech Railways stated on its website that trains started running between Praha-Libeň and Praha-Běchovice stations on one of the three tracks. Beyond the point of traffic restriction, however, connections on the very busy line were getting delayed by around 20 minutes.
The incident affected not only the domestic high-speed connections to Brno, Olomouc or Ostrava, but also international express trains to the Austrian and Hungarian capitals. “I assume that the operation could be resumed in the next few minutes,” Czech Railways spokesman Lukáš Kubát said at 6 p.m.
