The MR7 crowned champion of France
Monaco Rugby Sevens won the biggest title in their history by being crowned French rugby sevens champions on Saturday after their success in the final against Section Paloise (24-14).
They were the favourites. They assumed their status. After winning two stages out of the three organized this seasonJérémy Aicardi’s men won the title of champion of France, one after failing in the final against the Barbarians.

After an exemplary run and victories against La Rochelle (25-12) and Stade Français (19-14), the Monegasques found the Palois in the final for their fourth clash of the season at this stage of the competition.
A perfectly mastered finish
On the lawn of La Defense Arena, Cecil Afrika’s teammates executed the match perfectly with two tries scored by Tom Mitchell and Jonas Mikalcius. After a timid return from the Section Paloise, Ibai Leconte and Gaspard Lalli each scored a try to ratify the Monegasque success.

A title which rewards the exceptional work carried out by the MR7 for two seasons, which knew how to surround itself with stars of the discipline under the supervision of Jérémy Aicardi to constitute the best sevens rugby team in France.
