Spanish fugitive disappears after arrest in Portugal
Wanted for scams, he was released by Relação with periodic presentations on the GNR. He never attended.
A Spanish fugitive who, in August, was located and detained in Vila do Conde, by soldiers from the Núcleo de Investigação Criminal (NIC) of Matosinhos of the GNR, is again on the run. The foreign citizen, with residence and business in Vila do Conde, never complied with the regulatory provisions at the GNR post to which he was obliged, after being released by the Porto Court of Appeal.
According to what JN found out, Eloy Castro is accused of crimes of an economic nature committed in Spanish territory, but he never appeared in the trials judged by the courts of the neighboring country. As Spanish law does not authorize revelation trials and requires the presence of the accused in the courtroom, the Spanish authorities issue an international arrest warrant to force the fugitive to face justice.
