Russian-Ukrainian war: almost ten thousand people arrived from Ukraine on Saturday
Budapest – 5,302 people entered Hungary on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border section on Saturday, and 4,557 of those who entered the Romanian-Hungarian border section declared that they came from Ukraine – the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) informed MTI on Sunday.
Among those who entered, the police issued temporary residence certificates to 163 people, which are valid for 30 days. Within this day, they must visit the office of the National Directorate General of Immigration, which is competent according to their place of residence, in order to obtain the final documents.
154 people – including 57 children – arrived in Budapest by train fleeing the war in Ukraine, the ORFK announced.
The Budapest Police Headquarters announced on the police.hu website that it is assisting refugees arriving by train from Ukraine with the Emergency Police. The Budapest Civil Guard Association also provides support in the tasks.
