Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin during the expected meeting with the full and complete Ambassador of Qatar to the Russian Federation, Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Jassim Al-Thani, noted that Russia has transferred experience to Qatar since the Swiss country received the right to host the 2022 World Cup.

The meeting was held as part of the consideration of Qatar’s reception dedicated to the opening of the World Cup. The Minister of Sports congratulated the delegation of Qatar on the opening of the World Cup, which was the first in the territory of the Arab countries.

– From the moment Qatar received the right to host international championships, Russia has always been close to its Qatari colleagues. An interdepartmental working group to detain Qatar, under the patronage of Russian presidential aide Igor Levitin, often meets when providing assistance. More than 350 Russian professional specialists are currently working in Qatar, 43 of our volunteers are interested in working in various areas. Al-Thani thanked the Russian side for their help in preparing for the tournament.

They cover many areas of life, but sport includes the discussion of cooperation issues. Thanks to your country, we became participants in the World Cup. At the same time, we conduct an independent check and do not succumb to pressure from the international structure. the ambassador said.

Matytsin of the Qatar Conference takes part in the upcoming international competitions in Russia – the III stage of the complex events “Friendship Games” in December in Kazan, the International University Sports Festival in 2023 in Yekaterinburg, the innovative tournament “Games of the Future” in 2024 in Kazan.

The World Championship will be held from November 20 to December 18.
