Marcel Ciolacu stated, today in Chisinau, that the Republic of Moldova needs a pro-European social-democratic party and specified that, stressing that the work of the 10th extraordinary Congress of the Democratic Party will take place under the auspices of the social-democratic unit for the consolidation of a force . professional politicians, in which political doctrines matter less, reports News.ro.

“The Republic of Moldova needs social democrats. It is a moment when the doctrines of the right or the left matter less, the Republic of Moldova needs a pro-European social democratic party and, as far as I know, Mr. Prime Minister is also here . since 2009, you were the first to trigger your European democracy, we will all consolidate a professional political force in the Republic of Moldova, which in the following will have a lot to say, both in the Republic of Moldova and in Romania , but also in Europe”, declared Ciolacu, at the opening of the works of the 10th Extraordinary Congress of the Democratic Party of Moldova, from Chisinau.

The PSD leader added that the Democratic Party, from his point of view, will have a new beginning, a restart, even if the context is a difficult one and the year of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“It is obvious that from today the Democratic Party will have a new beginning, it is a restart from my point of view, which everyone is waiting for. It is not a pleasant situation, not only in the Republic of Moldova, but also in Romania and in the whole Europe, really the fact that the Republic of Moldova has just started the road to the European Union and is not a NATO member, creates a vulnerability at this moment, in the context of Russia’s aggression against a sovereign state. We will be able to address the Congress”, concluded Ciolacu.
